The Andaman Nicobar Sailing Club (ANSC) has invited applications from eligible candidates for a training programme aimed at developing Sailing Instructors and Assistant Sailing Instructors in the islands.

According to an official notice issued by the Honorary Secretary, the programme will select 10 candidates for a structured three-month training under certified instructors of the Yachting Association of India (YAI).

Candidates applying for the programme must be between 18 and 30 years of age and should have passed at least Class 12. Basic knowledge of water sports such as sailing and kayaking is required, along with proficiency in swimming.

Officials stated that the training will focus on both practical and operational aspects of sailing. Selected trainees will be trained in handling various sailing boats, including Optimist, Seabird and Enterprise classes, as well as rescue boats. The programme will also cover maintenance of equipment, record-keeping, and conducting training sessions for children and adults.

Upon successful completion of the course, two candidates will be selected for engagement as Assistant Sailing Instructor or Boatman at ANSC for an initial period of one year.

During the training period, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000. Those selected for engagement after training will be offered a consolidated monthly remuneration ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

The selected candidates will also be responsible for day-to-day operations of the sailing club, including training activities, equipment upkeep, and ensuring safe conduct of water sports.

Interested candidates have been asked to submit their applications addressed to the Honorary Secretary, Andaman Nicobar Sailing Club, Vikas Bhawan, Sri Vijaya Puram, on or before April 15, 2026.
