The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are gaining national attention at SATTE 2026, Asia’s leading travel and tourism exhibition, with local operators highlighting the region’s diverse attractions. Members of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) are participating through the Andaman Tourism Pavilion set up by the Directorate of Tourism, A&N Administration, alongside individual stalls representing island tourism initiatives.
The pavilion, designed to showcase the islands’ unique natural and cultural offerings, has drawn significant interest from visitors, travel trade partners, and tourism stakeholders. Brochures and promotional materials provide detailed insights into the islands’ tourism potential, encouraging greater engagement and business collaboration.
M. Vinod, President of AATO, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner, Secretary, and Director of Tourism, A&N Administration, for facilitating the participation of local stakeholders in such a high-profile international platform. He emphasized that events like SATTE 2026 play a critical role in building industry networks, promoting tourism products, and opening new business opportunities for island operators.
“Brand Andamans” is being prominently featured at the exhibition, enhancing the visibility of the islands in the national and international tourism market. The participation underscores the importance of connecting local operators with global travel buyers and partners, creating pathways for sustainable tourism growth in the region.
AATO representatives are actively engaging with visitors at the exhibition, sharing practical information, itineraries, and travel experiences to attract more tourists to the islands. The initiative aligns with broader efforts by the Directorate of Tourism to position the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a premier destination for nature, adventure, and cultural tourism.
Officials noted that such international exposure is expected to strengthen the local tourism ecosystem, enhance business prospects for tour operators, and contribute to the long-term development of the sector. The presence at SATTE 2026 reflects a strategic push to integrate island tourism into larger national and global tourism frameworks.
By combining direct engagement with international stakeholders and targeted promotional efforts, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands aim to boost visitor numbers while highlighting their distinct ecological and cultural heritage.
