A&N Announces September 11 Counselling for Mainland Professional and Technical Courses

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 4: Counselling for professional, technical and non-technical courses reserved at mainland institutions for students from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will be held on September 11 for the 2026-27 academic session, with candidates required to appear in person for allotment.

The counselling will begin at 10 am at the Auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Sri Vijaya Puram. The process will cover seats in BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BAMS for candidates of Malayalee origin, paramedical courses, B.A.L.L.B., B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Tech. Biotechnology, B.Tech. Fisheries Engineering, and General Nursing & Midwifery.

The available seats include two in BDS, three in BAMS, four in BHMS, one in BAMS (Malayalee Origin) and six in paramedical courses. The paramedical seats comprise two DMLT, one DOA, one DRRT, one DMC and one D.Pharm seat.

The counselling will also include surrendered seats comprising two B.A.L.L.B. seats, three B.Sc. Agriculture seats, one B.Tech. Biotechnology seat, one B.Tech. Fisheries Engineering seat and one General Nursing & Midwifery seat.

Candidates whose names appear in the merit list for the listed courses must attend the counselling personally. They have been asked to carry their original educational qualification certificates and testimonials, five passport-size photographs, two permanency certificates for sureties and documents supporting their category.

For surrendered seats, allotment will first take place from the respective categories from which the seats were surrendered. If seats remain unutilised in those categories, they will be allotted from Category-V according to merit.

The same Category-V provision will apply to unutilised seats from the respective categories in the other listed courses. If any surrendered seats remain vacant after these stages, they will be offered to fresh eligible candidates present at the counselling, according to merit.

The administration has also advised fresh eligible candidates interested in the surrendered seats to attend the counselling with their original testimonials so they can be considered if vacancies remain after the initial allotment process.

Candidates have been cautioned that no subsequent claim will be entertained from anyone who fails to appear personally or does not produce the required original certificates at the time of counselling and selection, regardless of their merit position.
