Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), April 3: The Industries Department has issued a warning over the unauthorised use of common facilities in industrial estates across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, cautioning that violations will invite strict enforcement measures, including legal action and removal of vehicles.
The department has observed that certain entrepreneurs operating within the industrial estates at Dollygunj, Garacharma, and Mithakhari have been using shared infrastructure such as roads, setback areas, drains, and other common spaces for purposes not permitted under their agreements.

According to the advisory, these areas are being used for parking vehicles, dumping waste, and conducting other unauthorised activities. The department has directed all entrepreneurs to confine their operations strictly within the plots allotted to them, as specified in the agreements executed with the government.
Officials have reiterated that common facilities and government land within industrial estates are not to be used for any private or unauthorised purposes. The directive emphasises adherence to the terms of allotment to ensure orderly functioning and maintenance of industrial infrastructure.
The department has also informed the general public that industrial estates are designated as restricted zones intended exclusively for industrial activities. Entry and usage are governed by specific rules, and any deviation from prescribed norms will be treated as a violation.
Authorities have made it clear that any individual found occupying or misusing roads, drains, vacant government land, or any part of the industrial estate for parking, waste disposal, or other unauthorised activities will face strict action. This includes removal or auction of vehicles and initiation of legal proceedings in accordance with applicable rules.
The advisory forms part of ongoing efforts to regulate the use of industrial estates and prevent encroachment or misuse of shared infrastructure. The department has urged all stakeholders to comply with the guidelines to avoid enforcement measures.
