A Civil Services Examination 2025 rank holder from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been felicitated by the Directorate of Education, with authorities positioning the achievement as a benchmark for students from remote regions aiming for national-level success.
The Director of Education honoured Shiyad, a resident of Wimberlygunj, for securing All India Rank 743 in the Civil Services Examination 2025. Officials described the accomplishment as a significant moment for the islands, highlighting the role of sustained effort and discipline in achieving competitive success.
During the felicitation, the Director acknowledged the candidate’s persistence and commitment, stating that the achievement reflects the potential of students from the region to compete at the national level. The administration underscored that such milestones contribute to building academic aspiration and confidence among students across the islands.

Authorities used the occasion to draw attention to the need for greater awareness around competitive examinations, particularly the Civil Services. The Directorate indicated that structured guidance and exposure remain critical for students who often lack access to mentorship and preparatory resources in geographically remote areas.
Shiyad has been requested to engage with students across the islands to share insights from his preparation journey. Officials said interactions focusing on strategy, consistency and examination experience are expected to provide practical guidance to aspirants and help demystify the process of preparing for national-level examinations.
The Directorate of Education has also outlined plans to organise a series of motivational sessions in colleges across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. These sessions will focus on encouraging students to pursue competitive examinations, adopt disciplined study practices and explore career opportunities in public services.

The outreach initiative is expected to be conducted in multiple institutions, aiming to create a sustained engagement framework rather than a one-time interaction. Officials indicated that such efforts are intended to build a culture of academic ambition and informed preparation among students.
The administration has framed the felicitation and subsequent outreach as part of a broader effort to strengthen academic motivation and competitive readiness in the islands. By connecting successful candidates with students, the Directorate aims to bridge informational gaps and promote a structured approach to exam preparation.
Authorities reiterated that achievements at the national level from the region serve as a reference point for future aspirants. The department maintained that consistent engagement, exposure to real experiences and focused guidance will be key to expanding participation of students from the islands in national competitive examinations.
