The Agriculture Department of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration has revised the schedule for one of its upcoming recruitment-related trade tests, introducing a change that candidates have been advised to take note of. The modification applies specifically to the trade test for the contractual post of Data Entry Operator under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY).
According to the revised notification, the trade test for the Data Entry Operator post, which was earlier scheduled to be held on February 28, 2026, has now been postponed. The rescheduled test will be conducted on March 14, 2026. The venue for the examination remains unchanged and will continue to be held at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Dollygunj, ensuring logistical continuity for candidates who had already made travel or accommodation arrangements.
In contrast, the trade test scheduled for the post of Secretarial Assistant under the same recruitment process has not been altered. It will be conducted as originally planned on February 28, 2026, at the designated venue. The department has clarified that only the Data Entry Operator trade test stands rescheduled, and no other changes have been made to the recruitment timeline at this stage.
Officials indicate that such rescheduling decisions are typically taken to address administrative requirements, venue coordination or examination preparedness, though no specific reason for the change has been cited in the notification. Candidates appearing for either post have been advised to carefully verify their respective dates to avoid confusion, particularly those who may be applying for more than one position.
Admit cards for both trade tests are being made available through official online platforms. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration as well as through the Administration’s e-Recruitment Portal. The online availability of admit cards is intended to ensure wider accessibility and reduce the need for physical correspondence.
The Agriculture Department has also provided contact details for candidates seeking clarification regarding the recruitment process. Queries related to the trade tests can be addressed to the Technical Cell of the Directorate of Agriculture at Haddo during working days. Officials have advised candidates to rely only on official communication channels and avoid unverified information circulating on informal platforms.
Recruitment under PM-RKVY forms part of efforts to strengthen the administrative and technical capacity of the Agriculture Department, particularly for data handling, documentation and programme implementation. Contractual positions such as Data Entry Operator and Secretarial Assistant play a supporting role in ensuring the smooth execution of agriculture-related schemes and initiatives across the islands.
With the revised date now notified, candidates are expected to adjust their preparation schedules accordingly and ensure timely reporting at the examination centre. The department has reiterated that adherence to the updated schedule is essential and that no individual requests for further changes will be entertained outside official notifications.
The rescheduling underscores the importance of regularly checking official portals for updates, as recruitment timelines may evolve in response to administrative or logistical considerations. Candidates have been advised to download their admit cards well in advance and reach the venue as per the instructions mentioned therein to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
