With college admissions underway across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, three major announcements from the education and health departments have put students on alert. Final and provisional merit lists for key institutions, along with a counseling date for nursing admissions, have been released, setting off the next round of action for hundreds of aspirants.
The Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Dollygunj has published its final merit list for the 2025–26 session on the Common College Admission Portal. Selected candidates must remit the admission fee between July 31 and August 4 to confirm their seats. Category-I (ST) and PwD candidates must pay ₹350, while others must deposit ₹950 into the designated Canara Bank account (A/C No. 1185201002815, IFSC: CNRB0001185). Any failure to comply within the deadline will result in automatic cancellation and the seat passing on to the next eligible candidate in the merit list.
Subsequent selection lists will be released on August 6, 12, 19, and 25, each followed by its own fee payment deadline. Once payment is completed, candidates are instructed to share the receipt via email at itipb.admission@gmail.com or through WhatsApp to 9531823022, 8900938301, or 9531939792. This must be followed by reporting to their respective trades between August 28 and 30, with original certificates in hand for verification. Training classes for the new batch begin on September 1.
Authorities have reminded students that any delay or missing documentation may lead to cancellation. ITI Dollygunj remains a top choice for skill development, offering trades such as electrician, fitter, mechanic, and computer operator. With the job market increasingly prioritizing vocational expertise, this admission window could be pivotal for many Island youth.
Meanwhile, the Mahatma Gandhi Government College in Mayabunder has published its provisional merit list for undergraduate courses. Available at collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in, the list allows students to verify their details and submit objections by August 2. Claims can be filed via email at mggcexamwing@gmail.com or by calling 9474246265 / 9531894209 during working hours.
The final merit list is scheduled for release on August 4 and will determine final seat allotments in arts, science, and commerce streams. Students have been advised to double-check category entries, academic scores, and domicile status to avoid errors during final admissions. The college has warned that no corrections will be entertained after the final list goes live.
In parallel, the Directorate of Health Services has scheduled counseling for the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course on July 31 at 10 am in the auditorium of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram. Candidates must appear in person with their original documents and photocopies for verification. Attendance is mandatory to secure selection or be included in the waiting list.
The final merit list for the ANM course is already posted on the CCAP portal and the ANM School’s notice board. Candidates have been urged to carefully review their eligibility and report punctually, as missing the counseling will lead to immediate disqualification. The ANM Training School plays a key role in preparing frontline healthcare workers, particularly for rural and island communities.
These announcements reflect a broader administrative push to maintain transparency and adherence to strict timelines across all educational institutions. Whether it’s vocational training, academic degrees, or health sector education, the message is clear: act swiftly, verify documents, and follow all official instructions to ensure admission.
For now, students across the Islands have their calendars marked, certificates prepared, and eyes fixed on the portals. The final seat confirmation depends not just on merit, but on timely action.
