ANCOL, Polytechnic Diglipur set for mid-August admissions

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram: The higher education admission season in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will see key activity this week, with both Andaman College (ANCOL) and Government Polytechnic Diglipur scheduling their counselling sessions in mid-August.

The final merit list for undergraduate courses at ANCOL for the academic year 2025-26 has been published on the Common College Admission Portal (https://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in). Candidates shortlisted on the merit list have been advised to download a copy from the portal and report to ANCOL before 9 am on the allotted admission counselling day.

For ANCOL, counselling will take place in two phases. On August 13, the process will cover B.Com (General), B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), B.B.A, and B.Sc (Psychology). On August 14, it will be held for B.A (English), B.A (Economics), B.A (Sociology), and B.P.A (Hindustani Vocal & Instrumental).

Applicants must bring original documents for verification, including X and XII pass certificates, mark statements, transfer certificate, category certificate (OBC/ST/Divyang/EWSs), Aadhaar card, local certificate, and a copy of the first page of a bank passbook. Two recent passport-size photographs and one complete set of photocopies of all documents are also mandatory. Officials have reiterated that admission will be granted only after verification of eligibility criteria and authentication of submitted documents.

Meanwhile, Government Polytechnic Diglipur has opened its admission process for new candidates. Interested applicants have been asked to fill in the online application form through the same Common College Admission Portal on August 13. The counselling session will be held on August 14 at the Polytechnic campus, with candidates required to report before 9.30 am.

As with ANCOL, Polytechnic applicants must carry all original marksheets and certificates along with one set of photocopies and four recent photographs. Officials emphasised that admission will be contingent on meeting eligibility requirements and successful document verification at each stage.

Both institutions have urged candidates to regularly check the official admission portal for any updates or changes to the schedule. Timely reporting on the day of counselling is considered crucial, as late arrivals may risk forfeiting their admission slot.

These mid-August admissions mark a significant stage in the academic calendar, determining entry into professional, vocational, and degree-level courses for the upcoming session. The administration has indicated that strict adherence to schedules and documentation requirements will be followed to ensure a smooth and transparent process across both institutions.
