Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 2: The Andaman and Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) will organise a 5-km Red Run on September 11 to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS among the general public.
The marathon will be open to individuals aged 17 years and above, with separate participation categories for males and females.
The Red Run will start and finish at Andaman Club. The route will proceed through Girls School, Flag Point and Mazar before returning along the same route to the Andaman Club, where the event will conclude.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three participants in each category. The first-place winner will receive Rs.10,000, while the second-place winner will receive Rs.8,000 and the third-place winner will receive Rs.5,000.
Online registration for the event opened on September 1 and will remain available until September 9, 2026.
Interested participants can register online through the registration form provided by ANACS. Participants may also register by scanning the QR code associated with the event.
For individuals who are unable to complete the online registration process, on-the-spot registration will be available at the event venue.
Participants are required to report at 5.30 AM on September 11 at Netaji Stadium for the marathon.
The event is being organised as an awareness initiative focused on HIV and AIDS. Through the Red Run, ANACS is seeking to engage the general public in an activity aimed at increasing awareness about HIV and AIDS.

The prize structure provides Rs.10,000 for first place, Rs.8,000 for second place and Rs.5,000 for third place.
Registration is available from September 1 to September 9, giving interested participants a nine-day window to register ahead of the event.
Those unable to register online will have the option of registering at the venue. Participants are required to report early on the morning of September 11, with reporting scheduled for 5.30 AM at Netaji Stadium.
The Red Run combines a public awareness objective with a 5-km marathon format, providing an opportunity for members of the public to participate in an organised sporting activity while supporting the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.
