AN01-W Vehicle Registration Series to Open for Reservation from January 5

Date:

The Transport Department has informed the general public that the new motor vehicle registration series AN01-W will be made available for reservation starting January 5, as the current running series AN01-T is nearing exhaustion. Vehicle owners who wish to secure registration numbers of their choice will be able to apply through the online reservation system once the new series is opened.

According to the official information, the move is part of the routine transition between registration series as existing numbers approach completion. The introduction of the AN01-W series is intended to ensure continuity in vehicle registrations without disruption and to provide options for vehicle owners seeking preferred registration marks.

Along with the AN01-W series, the department has clarified that applications for reservation of registration numbers can also be submitted under other available series. These include the U-Series, which will function as the normal running series, as well as the V-Series and W-Series, all of which can be accessed through the online application process. Applicants are required to submit their requests digitally, in accordance with existing procedures prescribed by the transport authorities.

The department has further stated that vehicle owners who are interested in reserving registration numbers from previous series are not excluded from the process. Left-out or unallotted registration marks from earlier series will continue to be available for booking, subject to payment of the prescribed fee. This provision allows applicants additional flexibility, particularly those seeking specific or preferred number combinations that may not be available in the current running series.

Officials noted that the reservation of registration marks is governed by established pricing norms, depending on the category and demand for the chosen number. Applicants opting for special or leftover numbers from previous series will be required to pay charges as notified under the existing fee structure. The online system is designed to reflect availability and applicable costs at the time of application.

The Transport Department has advised vehicle owners planning to register new vehicles or reserve specific registration marks to monitor official notifications and complete the application process in a timely manner. With the AN01-T series nearing its end, the opening of the AN01-W series is expected to streamline registrations and prevent delays, particularly during periods of high vehicle registration activity.

The department reiterated that all applications for reservation of registration numbers must be made online and that applicants should ensure accuracy while submitting details to avoid rejection or delays. No changes have been announced to the existing rules governing vehicle registration, and the process will continue to be carried out as per prevailing motor vehicle regulations.
