Aeromed Crosses 100 Life-Saving Transfers from Sri Vijaya Puram

Emergency medical evacuation services in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands have received a major boost as Aeromed Air Ambulance announced it has successfully completed over 100 patient transfers from Sri Vijaya Puram to top mainland hospitals. The milestone highlights the growing reliance on advanced air ambulance services for critical cases where immediate evacuation is the only lifeline.

In the past year, Aeromed has handled a wide range of missions, including airline stretcher operations that demand precise coordination, advanced monitoring, and uninterrupted oxygen support. Each transfer is managed by trained medical teams equipped with modern technology to ensure patient safety throughout the journey.

The company described the achievement as an important step in strengthening healthcare accessibility for the islands, which remain heavily dependent on mainland facilities for advanced medical treatments. “Completing more than 100 transfers from Sri Vijaya Puram is a testament to the trust placed in Aeromed. It demonstrates our unwavering commitment to saving lives when time is most crucial,” said Karthikeyan, Head of Sales & Strategy at Aeromed.

Looking ahead, Aeromed is working with the Andaman administration to explore the possibility of stationing a dedicated private medical jet in Sri Vijaya Puram. If implemented, the move could drastically reduce evacuation times, ensuring critically ill patients reach mainland hospitals with greater speed and efficiency.

Alongside this initiative, the company is also preparing to set up a 24×7 Response Center in Sri Vijaya Puram. The facility will serve as a direct access point for residents, hospitals, and healthcare providers across the islands, providing immediate assistance and coordination for medical emergencies.

The dual plans, a stationed air ambulance jet and round-the-clock response operations, signal a strategic shift in emergency medical infrastructure for the islands. For a region where distance from the mainland often delays urgent treatment, the expansion of Aeromed’s services could help bridge a critical healthcare gap.

As the islands continue to face challenges of geography and limited local infrastructure in handling advanced medical cases, Aeromed’s milestone underscores how private emergency services are emerging as essential partners in healthcare delivery. With over 100 successful evacuations already completed, the company is positioning itself as a vital link between Sri Vijaya Puram and the mainland, offering hope and rapid response when every second counts.
