Gautam Adani Urges Youth to Lead India’s ‘Second Freedom Struggle’

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has called upon young entrepreneurs to join what he described as India’s “second freedom struggle”, a movement not against foreign domination, but for independence through technology, social innovation and inclusive growth.

Addressing the fourth edition of Adani Green Talks in Ahmedabad, the industrialist said this new struggle is about breaking free from inequality, inertia and indifference. He described it as a journey of empowerment where fresh ideas become the seeds of transformation.

“Growth is not linear, it is unpredictable and often invisible, until suddenly a green shoot breaks through the surface, announcing a new chapter of freedom and hope,” Adani said, underlining the spirit of the event.

Since its launch, Green Talks has evaluated hundreds of ideas and hosted 15 companies that showcased their vision. Adani noted that in a world where nine out of ten startups fail, several participants have already defied the odds.

As an entrepreneur himself, he stressed the power of dreams in creating lasting impact. He reserved special admiration for social entrepreneurs, who, he said, are driven not by profit but by the desire to build a better society.

“The ones that humble me the most are the social entrepreneurs. They begin not in search of fortune but in search of building a better society,” he added.

Adani further outlined his vision of transforming Green Talks into a living platform of collaboration, where innovation from India connects with imagination from across the world.

“It should be a place where social startups spark ideas, unite in purpose, and work for the betterment of humanity. An ecosystem bound not by transactions but by a mission to grow with goodness, leaving behind a brighter, more sustainable world,” he said.

The Green Talks initiative, now in its fourth edition, continues to provide a platform for young dreamers, reinforcing the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in shaping India’s future.
