Adani Defence, Prime Aero to acquire Indamer Technics

Ahmedabad: Adani Defence & Aerospace has partnered with Prime Aero Services LLP to acquire a 100% stake in Indamer Technics Private Limited (ITPL), one of India’s leading private-sector Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) companies.

The acquisition will be made through Horizon Aero Solutions Limited, a 50:50 venture between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Prime Aero, owned by Prajay Patel. The move strengthens Adani’s position as the country’s largest private MRO network by combining its infrastructure scale with Indamer’s engineering expertise.

ITPL’s state-of-the-art facility in Nagpur’s MIHAN Special Economic Zone covers 30 acres with the capacity to handle 15 aircraft across 10 hangars. Approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and other global regulators, the company provides services ranging from heavy C-checks and structural repairs to lease return inspections and aircraft painting for both Indian and international clients.

Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airports, said the acquisition comes at a crucial moment for Indian aviation. “With Indian carriers set to induct more than 1,500 aircraft in the coming years, we are on the cusp of a new era,” he said. “This step reinforces our commitment to making India a premier global MRO destination and to building an integrated aviation services ecosystem driven by quality and customer satisfaction.”

Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, said the acquisition, following the earlier purchase of Air Works, expands the group’s MRO footprint and operational capacity. “Nagpur’s strategic central location adds immense value to our operations,” he said, noting the synergies expected between Air Works and Indamer in delivering integrated, high-quality solutions.

For Prime Aero’s Prajay Patel, the deal combines Indamer’s engineering heritage with Adani’s resources and infrastructure. “Our shared vision is to build a world-class MRO ecosystem out of India,” Patel said.

Adani Defence & Aerospace, part of the Adani Group, designs and manufactures advanced defence systems and supports the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, working with start-ups and MSMEs in the sector.

Industry analysts note that with passenger traffic making India the world’s third-largest aviation market, and with fleet sizes set for rapid growth, MRO capacity will be critical for maintaining operational efficiency and reducing dependence on overseas facilities. The acquisition positions Adani and Prime Aero to play a central role in meeting that demand.
