The Adani Group on Tuesday unveiled a $100 billion commitment to develop renewable-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres across India by 2035, marking one of the world’s largest integrated energy-compute initiatives. The project aims to establish a long-term sovereign energy and compute platform designed to position India at the forefront of the global Intelligence Revolution.
The investment is expected to catalyse an additional $150 billion by 2035 in server manufacturing, advanced electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud platforms, and supporting industries. Combined, this is projected to create a $250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem over the next decade.
“The world is entering an Intelligence Revolution more profound than any previous Industrial Revolution,” said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. “Nations that master the symmetry between energy and compute will shape the next decade. India is uniquely positioned to lead,” he added.
The roadmap leverages Adani’s existing 2 GW national data centre network and plans to expand toward a 5 GW target, establishing India as a global AI hub. The strategy focuses on the complete five-layer AI stack while enhancing the country’s technological sovereignty.
Key partnerships form the foundation of this initiative. AdaniConnex is collaborating with Google to develop the nation’s largest gigawatt-scale AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, along with additional campuses in Noida. Microsoft will partner on campuses in Hyderabad and Pune. The Group is also in discussions with other major technology players to establish large-scale campuses nationwide, reinforcing its position as India’s premier AI infrastructure partner.
The Group will deepen its collaboration with Flipkart by developing a second AI data centre, designed to support next-generation digital commerce, high-performance computing, and large-scale AI workloads.
The 5 GW deployment will integrate renewable power generation, transmission infrastructure, and hyperscale AI compute into a single coordinated architecture, creating the world’s largest integrated data centre platform.

Adani Group emphasized that the initiative is open for participation by global technology companies, sovereign institutions, and innovation partners to help build India’s next-generation AI infrastructure.
This long-term commitment positions India to lead in AI infrastructure globally while advancing renewable energy adoption and technological sovereignty. By combining energy and compute at unprecedented scale, the project aims to drive growth across AI, digital commerce, and supporting industrial sectors, creating a robust ecosystem for future innovation.
The announcement underscores India’s strategic push toward becoming a global AI leader while demonstrating the potential of integrated infrastructure to drive economic growth and technological leadership. The initiative also reflects Adani Group’s continued expansion in renewable energy, data centres, and digital infrastructure as the country prepares for rapid technological transformation in the next decade.
