Sri Vijaya Puram, October 23: Ramnagar Beach in Diglipur will host the Island Beach Games 2026 on October 30 and 31, bringing together participants of all age groups for two days of sporting competitions aimed at promoting beach tourism and recreational activities in North and Middle Andaman district. Registration for the event will close on October 26.
The games form part of the approved Tourism Event Calendar and seek to highlight the district’s tourism potential through beach-based sporting activities.
Organisers have scheduled five competitions: beach volleyball, tug of war, 100-metre sprint, kabaddi and musical chairs.
The event will feature separate categories for male and female participants, although the musical chairs competition will be restricted to females.
Interested participants can register at the chamber of the Block Development Officer (BDO), Diglipur, during the designated registration hours.
The registration counter will operate from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and again from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Organisers will conduct the lottery for the sporting competitions on October 27 at 4 pm at the BDO’s chamber in Diglipur.
Each participating team must send a representative to attend the lottery at the scheduled time.
The event will combine competitive sports with recreational activities as part of efforts to promote Ramnagar Beach as a tourism destination.
