Andaman Tourism Department Announces Eight-Day Photography and Drone Training From October 26

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, October 23: Aspiring photographers and videographers in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will have access to an eight-day training and certification programme covering photography, drone imaging and post-production, with sessions scheduled across three islands from October 26. The Department of Tourism will conduct the programme in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP), Noida, under the RAMP Scheme.

The programme will provide training in photography, videography, camera handling, drone imaging and post-production. It will also include specialised sessions on underwater photography and astrophotography, expanding the range of technical subjects covered by the course.

The first training session will begin on October 26 at the training hall of the Directorate of Disaster Management in Sri Vijaya Puram.

The programme will subsequently move to Swaraj Dweep, where training is scheduled to commence on November 3 at the Community Hall in Shyam Nagar Panchayat.

The third session will begin on November 12 at the Community Hall near Murugan Temple, Neil Kendra, in Shaheed Dweep.

The Tourism Department has also invited applicants from Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Long Island, Little Andaman and Campbell Bay who have already registered for the programme to attend the Sri Vijaya Puram session.

This arrangement will allow previously registered participants from these locations to join the training at the designated venue rather than wait for separate sessions in their respective areas.

The department has asked all concerned applicants to confirm their participation with its Planning Section at the earliest through the designated email address, tourismplanning2013@gmail.com.

The training and certification initiative brings together technical instruction in conventional photography and videography with specialised imaging techniques. Its scheduled delivery across three islands will provide separate training opportunities at Sri Vijaya Puram, Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep.

The department has not specified a separate registration deadline in the announcement, but has advised applicants to communicate their confirmation promptly.
