Sri Vijaya Puram, October 23: Street vendors identified during a recent municipal survey in Sri Vijaya Puram must submit signed declarations by October 31 to enable further processing of their applications for Certificates of Vending (CoV). The Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) has made the documentation mandatory for verification, requiring affected vendors to appear personally at its UPA Cell during office hours.
The directive applies to all street vendors covered by the municipal survey conducted between July 6 and August 1, 2026. The council has designated October 21 to 31 for completing the declaration and undertaking process.
Under the requirements, vendors must confirm that they personally operate their street vending businesses or conduct them through a family member. They must also declare that they have no other means of livelihood.
The undertaking further requires applicants to confirm that they will not transfer their Certificate of Vending or the location specified in it to another person, including through rental arrangements.

Another condition concerns multiple applications within the same household. Vendors must declare that no other family member has applied for a vending certificate for the same street vending activity or business.
Applicants must additionally certify that the personal details and supporting documents submitted to the municipal council are accurate and authentic, and that they have not concealed any material information.
SVPMC has said it will provide the prescribed declaration and undertaking forms free of charge at the UPA Cell.
The council has advised vendors to examine the information recorded in the documents before signing them, as the declarations form part of the verification process for determining their eligibility for vending certificates.
The procedure falls under the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, along with the applicable rules and scheme governing street vending.
Submission of the declaration is a procedural requirement and does not itself guarantee issuance of a Certificate of Vending. The council will process individual cases in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.
The notice requires all vendors included in the survey to complete the formalities within the specified period so their cases can proceed to the next stage of consideration.
