Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: The newly appointed Group Commander of Group HQ, Chennai ‘A’, Col S Sriram, reviewed the functioning of NCC units in Sri Vijaya Puram during an official visit that included interactions with personnel and cadets and inspections of training facilities.
During the visit to the NCC Army and NCC Naval Unit, Sri Vijaya Puram, Col S Sriram met Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Caretaker Officers (CTOs), Permanent Instructional Staff and administrative personnel. The Commanding Officer of the unit briefed him on its functioning and activities through a detailed presentation.
The Group Commander also inspected the Kote at the Police Line as part of the visit.
On September 23, 2026, Col S Sriram visited JNRM College, where he interacted with NCC cadets and shared insights on the responsibilities associated with discipline, leadership and national service. He also encouraged the cadets to maintain high standards in these areas.
The visit subsequently took him to the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Camp at INS Jarawa, according to a press release issued by Army NCC.
The engagements covered both the administrative and training aspects of NCC activities in Sri Vijaya Puram, including discussions with unit personnel, interaction with cadets and visits to associated training facilities.
The official visit comes as part of the Group Commander’s engagement with NCC units and personnel under Group HQ, Chennai ‘A’. The programme provided an opportunity to review the unit’s activities and interact with cadets undergoing NCC training.
The Army NCC release said the Group Commander’s programme included the unit visit, inspection at the Police Line, interaction with JNRM College cadets and a visit to the naval watermanship training camp at INS Jarawa.
