Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 29: The Andaman and Nicobar Archives has invited eligible History graduates to apply for a three-month Short-Term Internship Programme, offering selected interns a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 and practical exposure to archival work.
The internship will run from October to December 2026 and aims to provide hands-on experience in archival management and related activities. Interns will work across areas including the preservation, arrangement and cataloguing of records, digitisation and other archival activities.
The programme is open to candidates who have recently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from a recognised university. The Archives will give preference to applicants who completed their degree during the current academic year or the immediately preceding academic year.
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 for the duration of the three-month programme. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in handling and managing archival records alongside exposure to related activities.

Eligible candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format along with copies of relevant educational certificates and other required documents. Applications must reach the Assistant Secretary (Archives), Andaman and Nicobar Archives, Secretariat, Sri Vijaya Puram, by September 15, 2026.

Candidates seeking to apply have been asked to submit their applications before the September 15 deadline. The Archives has specified the required application format and supporting documents as part of the submission process.
The programme will run for three months, covering October, November and December 2026. During this period, selected History graduates will receive practical exposure to archival management, including work related to records preservation, arrangement, cataloguing and digitisation.
The internship provides an opportunity for eligible recent History graduates to gain direct experience in archival activities while receiving a monthly stipend. Preference for candidates who completed their degree in the current or immediately preceding academic year has been specified by the Archives.
Applications submitted after the prescribed deadline will not fall within the stated application period. Eligible candidates interested in the programme must therefore complete the application process and submit the required documents to the designated Archives office by September 15.
