Security was tightened outside Lok Niwas on July 21 as the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee staged a protest in support of the ongoing student movement over the Deemed-to-be University arrangement. Police deployed additional personnel and erected barricades while the demonstration remained peaceful. Congress demanded a review of the university transition, alleging students’ concerns remain unresolved after weeks of protests.
