Sri Vijaya Puram, July 17: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to free short-term skill development courses under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, offering training in four job roles aimed at improving employability and providing nationally recognised skill certification.
The Skill Development Programme Cell at DBRAIT, Pahargaon, is conducting the training programmes through the National Skill Development Corporation under PMKVY 4.0. Eligible candidates can register for the courses on or before July 28, 2026.
The programme includes training in Digital Mitra, Fashion Designer, Automotive Body Painting Technician and Manual Metal Arc Welding/Shielded Metal Arc Welding Welder. The courses will be conducted at DBRAIT, Pahargaon, as well as designated Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centres in Car Nicobar, Campbell Bay and Diglipur, depending on the job role.
The Digital Mitra course will be offered at the TVET Centre in Car Nicobar with an intake capacity of 20 candidates. The course has a duration of 270 hours over two months. Candidates must have passed Class XII or Class X with one-and-a-half years of relevant experience to be eligible.
The Fashion Designer course has an intake capacity of 20 candidates each at DBRAIT, Pahargaon, the TVET Centre in Campbell Bay and the TVET Centre in Diglipur. The course will run for 570 hours over three months. Applicants should have passed Class XII with three years of experience or possess a Diploma in Fashion Design and Clothing Technology with one year of experience.
The Automotive Body Painting Technician course will be conducted at DBRAIT, Pahargaon, with an intake of 15 candidates. The three-month programme comprises 450 hours of training. Eligibility includes Class XI pass, Class X or ITI with one year of experience, or Class X with two years of experience.
The Manual Metal Arc Welding/Shielded Metal Arc Welding Welder course will also be conducted at DBRAIT, Pahargaon, with an intake capacity of 20 candidates. The programme spans 390 hours over three months. Applicants must have passed Class X, or Class VIII with an ITI qualification, or Class VIII with three years of relevant experience.
The institute has asked interested candidates who meet the prescribed educational qualifications to register with the Skill Development Programme Cell at DBRAIT by July 28. According to the institute, the training programmes are intended to equip participants with nationally recognised skills, practical workplace experience and improved employment opportunities under the Skill India Programme through PMKVY 4.0.
