Frustrated by years of inaction and worsening road conditions, auto-rickshaw drivers and residents of Garacharma have taken matters into their own hands by repairing the damaged TTI Road. Riddled with potholes and unsafe stretches, the road has long endangered schoolchildren, commuters and daily wage earners. Despite repeated complaints and inspections, locals allege that official repair work never materialised. Pooling their own money and labour, the community carried out temporary repairs as a peaceful protest, highlighting delays, blame-shifting and administrative apathy. While the initiative reflects strong civic responsibility, residents insist that safe roads are a basic right and have renewed demands for permanent repairs and accountability from authorities.
